I’ve been getting loads of wonderful e-mail from all of you. I decided to answer some of the commonly asked questions, so you won’t have to wait for a reply from me. I’ll look forward to hearing from you, even if all your questions are answered below.
QWHEN WILL THE NEXT BITTER CREEK NOVEL BE IN BOOKSTORES?
I know you must be anxious for the next Bitter Creek novel. I’m down to two or three suggested titles for the next book–a couple of which are yours. I will let you know soon about when to expect the book in your local bookstore.
QHOW IS THE NEXT MRS. BLACKTHORNE AND THE RIVALS CONNECTED WITH THE BITTER CREEK SERIES?
The Next Mrs. Blackthorne is about which of two women Clay Blackthorne chooses for his bride–Libby Grayhawk or Jocelyn Montrose. You’ll meet Kate Grayhawk again, and Libby’s brother North, who both help Clay find his true love.
The Rivals was released in September 2004. This novel is an unforgettable love story between strong-willed people from different worlds and features the Blackthornes of Bitter Creek, Texas, and their formidable rivals, the Greyhawks of Wyoming. The Rivals is a continuation of the Bitter Creek series featuring Clay Blackthorne. A secondary character from The Price with such a compelling dark side that I simply had to know more about him also makes an appearance. Blue-eyed, blond-headed Drew DeWitt is a cousin of the Blackthornes, with a bright, boyish smile and all-American good looks on the outside-and a tortured soul on the inside.
QHOW CAN I GET A COPY OF TEXAS WOMAN, THE FINAL BOOK IN THE SISTERS OF THE LONE STAR SERIES?
Texas Woman was republished in October 2003. This is the third book in the Sisters of the Lone Star trilogy, which began with the New York Times bestsellers Frontier Woman and Comanche Woman.
This series tells the history of Texas during the period of the Republic–1836-1846– through the eyes of its three heroines: Cricket, who marries Texas Ranger Jarrett Creed (Frontier Woman), Bayleigh, who marries a half-breed Comanche , Walker Coburn aka Long Quiet (Comanche Woman), and Sloan, who marries a blue-eyed, black-haired Castilian Spaniard, Cruz Guerrero (Texas Woman).
QARE YOU GOING TO WRITE A BOOK ABOUT LUKE SUMMERS, THE BASTARD BROTHER FROM THE SISTERS OF THE LONE STAR TRILOGY?
Luke does have a romance in Texas Woman, the final book of the trilogy. I have no plans right now to give Luke his own book.
QIS THERE A BOOK THAT EXPLAINS WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN CRICKET CREED AND THE FIRST BLACKTHORNE?
Throughout the Bitter Creek series I’ve made references to how the Creed and Blackthorne families initially were joined by the marriage of Cricket Creed and a mysterious man simply called “Blackthorne”-and how the age-old feud between them got started. So far, there’s no book that really “fills in the gaps.”
QHOW COULD YOU SEPARATE CRICKET AND JARRETT WHEN THEY’RE SO OBVIOUSLY MEANT TO SPEND THE REST OF THEIR LIVES TOGETHER?
I apologize to readers who wanted Jarrett and Cricket Creed to stay together and live happily ever after. I hope to make amends by writing a book to explain what happened to separate them and how–through no fault of their own-they are forced into new, surprisingly wonderful relationships. This is a theme that resonates with me, and I think with many other women who’ve been divorced or widowed and believe that you can have a second love even more powerful-although it may be very different-from the first.
QWHAT BOOKS DO YOU HAVE IN STORES THIS YEAR?
I have a book in stores in February I’d like to recommend to you. It’s a hardcover reprint of three books in my Hawk’s Way series, called HAWK’S WAY BRIDES. It includes three of my favorite novels: THE UNFORGIVING BRIDE, THE HEADSTRONG BRIDE, and THE DISOBEDIENT BRIDE, the last of which was nominated for a RITA as best short contemporary novel of the year.
QWHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW?
I’m currently working on my next novel and new series! Check back later for more details about this new book.
QHOW CAN I FIND OUT WHEN BOOKS ARE GOING TO BE IN STORES?
